The 2019 fundraising project, Project 2R&S, advances one of our core goals: the rehabilitation of the academic and physical infrastructure of CCC. Funds raised this year will be help in addressing the following urgent challenge:
-
Broken perimeter fence: Part of the physical deterioration of the school is the vulnerability of students due to the absence or poor condition of protective fence around the campus. Current students thus deal with constant threats to their personal security. In addition to theft of personal property, there have been reports of men from the neighboring communities invading the dormitories at night with the intention of raping the students. We plan to utilize the funds raised this year to secure the school by repairing and extending the fence as well as hiring more night security guards. The physical safety of female students in Nigeria is critical especially against the backdrop of several reported incidents of kdinapping of girls from boarding schools.
The extent to which we can execute the above projects depends on the level of support (financial and material) that we receive from you in any or all of the following ways (in addition to attending the banquet):
-
Advertise in the program brochure: $100 for an inside full-page advert ($500 for the back page or inside front cover). You can use this medium to advertise your business, product or service, or simply to send goodwill messages to the Association or an individual member/officer.
-
Donate items for raffle draw/auction: We do online raffle/auction before the Reunion weekend and during the Banquet. We welcome gift baskets – spa or food items, etc.
-
Donate cash designated specifically for Project2R&S (we apply 100% of funds raised to the identified projects). Project donations can be sent before the event and are eligible for tax receipts.
-
Purchase a table/space to exhibit your business (goods and services) during the fair/workshop on
Nov. 2, 2019. We have 10 available spots at $100 each.
-
Donate cash toward the organization of the fundraising banquet itself.
-
Invite your family members, friends and professional colleagues and solicit their financial support on our behalf. Every bit goes a long way.
