Between 2015 and 2021 we raised funds and made donations for different projects in the school ( CCC Afaha Oku, Uyo Nigeria) and here in the United States of America.
*2015*: We purchased benches for the School Cafeteria.
*2016*: We donated items worth N2.2 million (approximately $7,000) towards desktop computers, projectors, power back-up systems and a 31.5 KVA generator for the two computer labs.
*2017*: We donated 130 double bunk beds for the dormitories.
*2018-2019:* We provided funds for the roofing of our Chapel: this is an on going project
*Here in the United States, $300 has been allocated for “ Back to School Projects” ( be it school uniform or backpack with added school supplies).
1. In 2018, we sponsored a school in Los Angeles and Maryland
2. In 2019, we sponsored a school in North Carolina.
*April 2020*: We donated to four food banks in four (4) states in the USA due to the Covid 19 pandemic for a total of $1,000.00
“In November 2020, we awarded scholarships in the amount of N30,000.00 each ( equivalent of $210.77 total) to three (3) outstanding students of the class of 2020 in Arts, Science and Commercial Subjects.
In December 2020, pews were delivered to the School Chapel.
Also in December, scholarship awards were given to students in the amount of $841.00 based on the exchange rate at the time.
July 2021, three (3) SSS3 students were recognized with a donation of N30,000 each and a certificate for high achievement
In September 2021, Detroit Service Learning Academy was blessed with our back to school project. Items donated were 20 bag packs, 20 flash drives (16gigs), 4 packs of markers(total- 20), 2 packs of ink pens -(total 44 pens) pencils- (total 20) 5 dozens of notebooks, 10 filler papers.
In October 2021, Finch Elementary in McKinney Texas was blessed with 3 sets of headphones (10 packs) and 3 drawer cart (2 packs).
December 12, 2021, scholarship awards for 15 qualifying students from JSS1 to SSS2 of the 2020/2021 school year.
